Championing Gender Equity with Engineers Australia

The Challenge

Engineers Australia wanted to create a space for meaningful dialogue on gender equity during International Women in Engineering Day. The challenge was to engage men as allies while ensuring the conversation resonated with a predominantly female audience.

The Solution

We designed and delivered an interactive Male Allies workshop that explored unconscious bias, systemic barriers and practical strategies for allyship in the workplace. The session encouraged reflection and commitment to change, helping participants understand how everyday actions can build inclusive cultures.

The Implementation

The workshop ran as a 90-minute session during the International Women in Engineering Day event, with around 45 participants. Activities included scenario-based exercises, group discussions and personal action planning to ensure practical takeaways.

The Results

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants described feeling empowered to advocate for all genders, gaining greater awareness of opportunities for women in trades and appreciating the collective commitment to change. Many left with clear actions and renewed confidence to champion gender equality.
